A Note from the TeacherWell, this is my final newsletter for the Sunshine class. It felt like forever as I waited to hear from WSU regarding my acceptance and now the time has seemed to come so quickly. It has been a fun year getting to know each of you and your children. I am sorry to not be finishing out the last two months, but I’m also excited for Denise to step into the role of Lead Teacher. She’ll be great as I’m sure you already know! I look forward to being able to spend a little time with you on Thursday and Friday before I leave.
Parent/Teacher conference sign ups will be available this week. Denise will be filling out a year-end assessment form for each child that you’ll be given a copy of. If you would like to also have a meeting with her you can sign up for a time on Thursday, May 1st. There is a rummage sale happening in the church on Friday so the parking lot will be packed. With that in mind, Denise will be limiting the number of available times to only be on Thursday. There will be no school either that Thursday or Friday, May 1st and 2nd. Let Denise know if you have any questions.
And lastly, the Mom’s Tea is coming up very soon, Thursday and Friday, May 8th and 9th. The even takes place upstairs in Jason Lee Hall (where the bounce houses were during carnival). The kids have been working hard on special songs to sing for you and will soon be working on some cute little projects for you as well. I hope that each of you will be able to be there so that each child has their mom to sit with and share the special day with. If a mom cannot attend, a grandma could take their place. :-)
I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the year and I will miss you all!

This Week in the Sunshine Class We’ll be spending this week enjoying Spring-related activities. We’ll learn about how a seed becomes a plant and we’ll plant our own seeds as well. Plus we have a cute little poem to help us learn about the different parts of a flower.
We’ll play in mud and read a cute book called “Mud!”
We’ll be making ladybugs for our Spring bulletin board and we have a cute little counting game that involves ladybugs and daisies.
We’ll practice our cutting skills by cutting “grass clippings” and parts for our ladybugs.
And we’ll be making “blooming trees” in a creative way. There are so many beautiful trees blooming in spring! Now they’ll have their own tree to remember this beautiful season.
Hopefully by the end of the week we’ll have a beautiful Spring bulletin board to enjoy!
And of course we’ll end our week together by sharing some tasty treats on Thursday and Friday.
Let’s enjoy our last week together and hopefully we’ll have some sunny weather to give us good spirits! :-)
